He became a HAM in June, 1948 and was active on 20 and 75 meters for over 45 years.
My uncle was insturmental in the formation of the " POSTAL NET " on 75 meters, and
the NET is still active today. He was also active in the " SYNDICATE NET " on 20 meters
that started in the 1950's on AM phone. As a class B and later ADVANCED class ham,
he touched the lives of many hams over the world. I have all of his 23 log
books that begin on June 25, 1948 and document his last transmission on November 20,
1993.
My uncle was in the Navy for 40 years. 10 years active and 30 years reserve. He retired an E7
